In the activation request, you can define the following exceptions:

  • Exclude a ticket from the upgrade options—the ticket cannot be selected for an upgrade, even if it is visible or available on the sales page.
  • Include a ticket in the upgrade options— the ticket can be selected as an upgrade even if it isn't visible on the event page. Stock, availability, and a higher price are still required.

Example: For a sold-out event, a hidden ticket with the desired upgrade price is created in the back office so that participants with an early-entry ticket can upgrade.

How does a participant upgrade?

  1. On the digital ticket, select"Upgrade Tickets" — at the bottom of the page, below the QR code.
  2. Select the ticket you want to exchange.
  3. Select the new ticket. For each option (if applicable), the ticket price and the amountdue are displayed.
  4. Confirm the upgrade and select "Make Payment."

The upgrade summary shows the current ticket, the new ticket, the price of the new ticket, and the amount already paid for the original ticket, which is deducted.
